Gilbert grew up in Delaware County where he was exposed to compassionate and safe patient care, being brought up in a family of nurses. These individuals taught him firsthand the need for a team approach when caring for those who cannot care for themselves and the impact of substance use disorders on individuals. Inter-connectedly with the characteristics he was exposed to, brought him to his passion of recovery care. In 2013, alongside his uncle, they opened one of the first recovery homes in Delaware County. They were fortunate enough to help many young men find a new way of life. Remaining proactive and engaged, Gilbert attended many community forums where he was offered his first position working for a treatment provider. Over the last 7 years, with the help of many like-minded individuals, he established partnerships to help those who struggle and start their journey toward healing.
Among Gils many hobbies, he enjoys spending time with his nine-year-old daughter Addison. She is the pride and joy of his life.
