James Ivery is our South Central PA Outreach Coordinator. He has worked in the human services field and participated in recovery communities for several years, motivated and eager to help those who suffer with substance use disorder. As a person in long-term recovery himself, he understands first-hand what life can be like struggling with addiction. James is continuously advocating for individuals with substance use disorder, by actively participating in protests and other community events dedicated to spreading awareness and diminishing the stigma attached to the disorder. “Practicing empathy and compassion, rather than judgement and ridicule, can help save someone’s life.” During the times he is not out helping others, James prefers to spend time with his family and close friends. He enjoys hobbies such as bowling, mini golfing, and attending his two daughter’s cheerleading competitions. James continues to dedicate his life to helping others and showing society that recovery is possible.
