Vernetta has worked in the Human Services field since 2005. She is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program with Liberty University. She received a Bachelor’s degree as well as her Master’s degree in Education from Arcadia University. After 2 years working in the Philadelphia school system, Vernetta went on to work as a Family Services Manager supporting at-risk families with the Department of Human Services, placing in-home resources to support, educate and advise families on best practices. As Team Leader for Assertive Community Treatment Vernetta was responsible for overseeing 95 at-risk individuals living in the community—ensuring that they received services that supported their mental, physical, and behavioral health. Most recently, Vernetta served as a National Director of Residential services at Project Transition, where she created policies, systems, and processes aligned with contractual obligations and best practices. She spearheaded expansions in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and North Carolina. As the Executive Director for Uplyft, Vernetta is responsible to create an effective and best in class experience for adolescents and adults engaged in services at our Outpatient centers. Vernetta is a certified dual diagnosis specialist and is a firm believer that all people can achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally if provided with a stimulating, safe, and appropriate environment. Her long-standing enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to motivate and inspire youth and adults has become her personal and professional mission.
